Who we are

Sebenza (operated by [Operator legal name]) helps people apply for operational jobs in South Africa. For the personal information you give us, the responsible party is [Operator legal name], contactable at [info officer email].

What we collect

The information you provide when you apply: your name, area, work history, skills, languages, an optional photo, and your mobile number. If you upload a CV, we read it to build your profile.

How we use it

To build your candidate profile, verify your number by WhatsApp, and share your profile with the employer whose job you applied to so they can consider you and contact you. We use automated tools (AI) to organise your profile and to help employers shortlist — a person at the employer makes the actual hiring decision.

Who sees it

The employer whose job you applied to. Your contact number is only revealed to them when they choose to contact you, and that action is logged. We do not sell your information.

How long we keep it

Your details are kept only while this role is being filled and for up to 12 months after, then deleted. You can ask us to delete them at any time.

Your rights

Under POPIA you can ask to see, correct, or delete your information, and you can object to its use. To do any of these, message [deletion contact — WhatsApp/email] and we will action it. You can also complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa).
